Artist’s Journal:

I nod to the vulture because the landfill is death.
When we finally leave this planet alone, and all that is left are these wastelands we’ve created,
The vulture will feast fearlessly on the distended bodies of mice and vermin
Who have woefully mistaken the mustard-streaked plastic wrap from our lunches for food.
The vulture is ready.
He is circling the landfill
And he is circling us.
